There's nothing one can say except what a terrible loss, and our hearts go out to his family.  This morning, Today did a terrific tape on the many visits Robin Williams made to the studio.  We got so excited every time he was booked on the show. We couldn't wait for his segment knowing it would be so much zany fun, maybe more for us than the viewers. I am so blessed and happy to have been there to see his genius at work, even though it was only for a few minutes every now and then over 25 years. But in those 25 years, he did so much and gave so much.  Watching him on the set, you could see in his eyes that his brain cells were bouncing around, clicking away, making wild connections between objects, words and his physical self.. simply hilarious.  Talent was smart enough to just let him go and hang on for the ride.  Back in the early days of the Toy Drive, before celebs were booked in advance for the collections, I hit him up to go into the crowd to collect the toys, and he graciously agreed to play Santa.  He showed so much kindness to the folks on the Plaza who couldn't believe he was there out there gathering up their donations. He was such a generous soul. May he be at peace.
